Friday Night Lights

Thursday, August 30, 2012
This ain't Texas ya'll, but high school football season is still big business here in Gahanna. This Friday, August 31 is the first Viking home game.  In honor of this momentous occasion, PACA Co-President and all around righteous dude, Kevin Dubenion, has put together a top 10 list of DO's and DON'Ts for CA football games:

#10: DO volunteer for concession duty! It's fun and it's a great way to get acquainted with the rest of Viking Nation! How? Everyone (Parents, Students, Friends) comes to you! You've got the goods, literally!  Interested in helping out?  Contact us

#9: DO arrive early and have dinner at the game? No one wants to cook on Friday night anyway— so get in the spirit and spring for hot dogs, flame-grilled burgers or mouth watering Rotelli's pizza! I'm not sure, but it may even be low-calorie....

#8: DO walk the track during football games— yes, even the "little" kids do this— it's part of the experience! Burn off all those concession stand calories and watch the game while you do it!

#7: DON'T walk up/down the hill on either side of the home bleachers. Evening brings dew. Dew brings moisture. Moisture is slippery.  Capice?  Unless you enjoy scrubbing grass stains off of clothing- stay away!

#6: DO be vigilant while walking through either end zone section of the track. Note to self:  there is a football game going on and you could be hit by a variety of flying projectiles.  You have been warned; I make no promises not to laugh if you get smacked in the noggin.

#5: DO be an ambassador for Columbus Academy! Let's face it, CA is an amazingly impressive place with amazingly impressive people. It can be very intimidating to strangers. Our guests will enjoy a smile and a warm hello. Pay it forward, my friends!

#4: DON'T pass on the BRATWURST. The best ever. Special recipe, cooked to perfection (oftentimes pour moi!). Not available at all home games, but ask anyway! If we have them, buy an extra one for later! They are THAT good.

#3: DO Enjoy our Spirit/Pep Band. Jessica Sneeringer directs a harmonically raucous band of rowdies that brings all sorts of energy and excitement to the game!

#2: DON'T forget to say hello to your friendly PACA Co-Presidents, Kevin (pictured here with daughter, Khloe) and Blythe! .

#1: DON'T forget...GO VIKES!
