2013 marks the inaugural year of the Triad Parent Education Speaker Program—a collaborative effort between CSG, CA and Wellington to bring some really top-notch speakers to present important and relevant parenting topics.
Up first is Dr. Ken Ginsburg, author and pediatrician specializing in Adolescent Medicine at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and a Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He also serves as Director of Health Services at Covenant House Pennsylvania, an agency that serves homeless youth in Philadelphia.
Dr. Ginsburg will be speaking on resilience, on how we can raise our kids to be successful and confident in a world that is increasingly imperfect and unjust. He will be introducing "strategies to build the seven crucial “Cs” — competence, confidence, connection, character, contribution, coping, and control — so that parents can raise authentically successful children."
Dr. Ginsburg's program will be held at CA's Shoedinger Theater on Wednesday, April 3rd from 7-9pm. Tickets are $10 in advance and can be purchased here through the Viking Corner. If room remains, tickets will be sold at the door for $15. If you are interested in attending this program, buy your tickets sooner rather than later, as seats will go fast with all three schools inviting parents to attend.
If you would like to learn more about Dr. Ken Ginsburg, visit his website and if you have questions about the Triad Parent Education Speaker Program, get in touch with CA parent Susan Levine.
